Upgrades for Humanity
If you could learn how to do more good, would you?
All Around is a program for doing more good. We ask you to think of good not as "nice" things to do, but as good that saves lives, prevents great
human suffering and ensures our mutual future. Below are some of the key strategies of the program. We want you to know that these ideas are all backed by written materials, and these
written materials are backed by a growing community of individuals. These people are willing to support you to learn and use these materials—for your own benefit and for the protection of all.

How most people currently do good |
All Around's upgrades for living |
| Attitude |
Act on whatever opportunities to do good comes my way. Do whatever good matches my personal style. |
Take the attitude of surgeons. A surgeon would never dream of using outdated methods if there were superior methods of operating. The following
strategies are all upgrades over how most people currently operate. We offer these methods to you as superior methods to save lives and reduce suffering. Together they are an
insurance policy for your life, our children's lives and life on Earth. |
| Strategy |
Basically single-focused: Give time or money to one or a few charities and causes, and make the leap of faith that enough other caring people will
jump in and do their share. It doesn't seem like this leap of faith is working. |
A five-pronged strategy: Give time and money to the best single-focused charities, but also increase your ability to make lasting changes; increase your efficiency; look at your life-support systems and try to offset major
damage you personally cause; and support others as part of a chain reaction of empowerment. [These other four strategies are described in the
next four boxes.] |
| Learning and self-change methods |
Self-help books, tapes, and workshops — which usually have no effect or a temporary effect because people don't have the ongoing support to practice and fully
integrate them. |
Written materials on the web site that are anchored by ongoing personal support structures like the Buddy System and
the Goal & Growth group. These structures give ongoing motivation for changes that last. Self-help books, tapes and workshops can likewise be enhanced and anchored. |
| How to do more good (to save more lives and prevent more suffering) |
Work harder. Sacrifice more.
Give till it hurts. |
Learn how to boost your spare time, money and skill so you have more for yourself and more to give. (In other words, you should think of boosting your efficiency and helping others in the same breath.
Indeed, boosting your efficiency is like breathing in, and giving to others is like breathing out. They should be married together in your thinking.) So you are working smarter, not harder.
|
| Golden Rule |
The 1.0 Version:
"Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." |
The 2.0 Version:
"Put back into each of your life-support systems at least as much as you take." (These life-support systems include: your body, your mind, your relationships, your community, the environment, the economy, and the political system)
More.
|
| Levels of Empowerment |
One or two levels: Either temporary support or to teach one skill. (In other words, either "Give people fish" or "teach people to fish.") |
All four levels of the Ladder of Empowerment below. (Please read from the bottom rung up.)
